LEGAL & GENERAL BUSINES CLUB EXPANDS SERVICES.

19 March 2012

Legal & General Business Club, set up the at the end of last year to help IFA member firms develop their business propositions in readiness for RDR, is planning to add 5 new services for members this year. It has also has just received Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) accreditation for its adviser training modules.

Commenting on the Business Club Miguel Ogilvie, Business Club Director said; “In the run up to RDR implementation and beyond, we wanted our key IFA businesses to benefit from the depth of sales and marketing expertise that Legal & General has to offer. The Business Club takes a very different approach to supporting member firms, looking at generating new revenue streams and saving money in a business. We believe the Skills Training and Prospecting Services that we offer to be unique in the market. And we are naturally delighted that the two workshops covering Business Transition and Adviser Skills have been awarded CII accreditation. The Club is constantly looking to develop new services and will be introducing more in the coming months. We are also running events across the country throughout this year.”

The Legal & General Business Club provides a valuable “networking” opportunity for advisers to exchange views with their local colleagues from other IFA firms. Over 120 members have attended Business Club events to date. Membership of the Legal & General Business Club is by invitation only.

What do the members say?

Myles Jacobs, Managing Director, Kellands Ltd, Bristol commented: “I believe we’re already a more profitable business under the new model and we’re certainly ahead of the game in terms of RDR readiness. The workshops are a big part of what makes Business Club so valuable.”

Richard Scott, Red IFA, Nottingham, said: “We have benefited in many ways from our time as members of the Business Club. It has allowed us to focus on areas of business development that will actually have an impact on our business both prior to and post RDR.”
