Legal & General International (Ireland) Ltd (LGII) has announced it has extended access for advisers through the Ascentric wrap platform.

With immediate effect, customers who wish to invest in an International Portfolio Bond (IPB) from LGII can now hold and manage their investments on the Ascentric platform.

This is a further step in Legal & General’s multi-platform strategy, which now provides access via four fund platforms*.

Advisers do not have to compromise when looking to recommend a flexible tax planning solution issued from a Dublin jurisdiction on a platform of their choice.

Mike Morrow, Sales & Marketing Director at Ascentric said: “Offering clients choice remains at the heart of our proposition and the addition of the IPB from Legal & General enhances the range of offshore bonds available on our platform.

In June Ascentric announced it had grown assets under administration to over £4.3 billion in (as at June 30th 2012).

Danny Wynn, Director, Platforms & Policy Legal & General commented: “We are delighted to be working with Ascentric to widen investment choice for their customers. In an increasingly competitive sector advisers are looking more and more to access financial services and products via a platform of their choice. Our offshore bond business is continually seeking ways to create new services for platforms, which can help to cement the relationship with their existing clients.”

Advisers who wish to take advantage of this facility should contact their Legal & General representative.

IFAs who require more information about International Portfolio Bond should contact the Legal & General International (Ireland) Ltd Distribution Support Team on 0845 6740 803. Lines are open from 9 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday. We may record and monitor calls. Call charges will vary.

Note*:Last year Legal & General International (Ireland) announced that customers could undertake in specie transfers into International Portfolio Bond on the Cofunds platform, Seven Investment Management Platform and the Skandia Investment Solutions platform.
