The Skills Academy is an independent employer-led, charitable organisation, which is a leading body for training and development in the financial services industry.

The Skills Academy has developed an accreditation scheme specifically designed for financial services training, to recognise the excellent training opportunities offered by small and large employers. These training and development programmes aim to help those joining the financial services sector ensure that they have the right knowledge and skills to do their jobs.

The Skills Academy use an accreditation tool to assess a company’s performance in five key areas, including Leadership, People & Strategy, Resources & Processes, Products & Services and Outcomes. Legal & General met the requirements of each section to win their accreditation.

Mark Screeton, Distribution Director for Legal & General Network said,
"I am delighted that we have won this accreditation. It recognises the professionalism and expertise of our Network training and development consultants. We use a number of business and training development tools that have a proven track record of success. Our approach is to work very closely with our member firms to fully understand their business models. By doing so we are able to offer bespoke solutions that add real value and deliver additional business growth".

Sylvia Perrins, Chief Executive, National Skills Academy for Financial Services said, "We are pleased that Legal & General share our vision for delivering excellence to financial services. As one of the UK's leading financial services providers they have a depth of knowledge and skill that is of huge value to both new and existing advisers. We look forward to continue working with them".
