Legal & General will now provide all family and mortgage-linked Life and Critical Illness protection cover for Barclays retail customers on an advised basis.

The new arrangement builds on the successful mortgage protection distribution arrangement that Legal & General and Barclays have had in place since 2001.

Commenting on the partnership Chris Last, Managing Director, Legal & General Bank & Building Society Distribution said:“I am delighted to be widening our relationshp with Barclays . Barclays is a key strategic partner for Legal & General and we have worked successfully together for many years. Building further on the strong relationship we have, is an endorsement of both our partnership credentials and recognition of our strength in the individual protection market."

Paul McNamara, Managing Director, Insurance and Investments at Barclays said, "We look forward to building on our already successful relationship with Legal & General to provide our customers, through our advised channel, with competitive and easily accessible family and mortgage protection cover, which they can tailor to their needs."
